The soundtrack of upcoming Pakistani movie ‘Actor in Law’ was officially unveiled by Urdu1 Pictures and Filmwala Pictures at an exclusive music launch event on Monday amid stars and the press.

The album comprises of five songs sung by big shots of the industry, Dil Dancer, Actor in Law (title song and reprise version), O Khudaya and Funkaraan by Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shani Arshad, Asrar Shah and Junaid (Seige band).

Atif Aslam performing live at the music launchTalking about the social comedy Fizza Ali Meerza, co-writer and producer of Actor in Law while talking to Pakistan Today said, “I think it’s time that our films are visually at par with international films and I feel Actor in Law will be able to compete for that. We have taken everyday issues and made them humorous so that people can enjoy them and perhaps learn something from them.”

The romantic number ‘Dil Dancer’ sung but Atif Aslam, featuring Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat, is a fascinating song as it made Atif break out of his signature singing style.

“I wanted to do a regular romantic song for a while now, so when I heard it, I really liked it and I picked it up instantly. It’s a really different song, something I hadn’t done for a while,” said Atif Aslam while talking to Pakistan Today at the launch.

Atif is also going to do a rock song for Azan Sami’s next starring Fahad Mustafa, “Just like good old Jal Pari times,” he said.

The songs of Actor in Law are not only interesting but have quite a twist to them.

“The songs differ from each other in their moods and there is an item number too,” Fahad told Pakistan Today, “Yes! The item boy in the movie is me,” he added.

“The item song is very tastefully done,” said Mehwish, “I think people have started appreciating good cinema. I set a standard through my first item number and people have followed that ” she said on people’s acceptance of item numbers.

“We have worked really hard on the music of the film and our music director Shani Arshad has created a fantastic album that will appeal to everyone, staring” said director Nabeel Qureshi about the music.

“Having internationally popular singers like Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan lending their voice to our album gives me confidence that this album will become a chartbuster,” he said.
