I had only seen @naylahofficial makeup on insta and her brides are totally mesmerizing but as any bride, I had a number of doubts about the whole arrangement. So I investigated, I asked on various pages and friends who knew or had seen her brides to evaluate my choice. Even then I was confused but I just sent the advance online and visited the studio once a month later to get my receipt. . . The team told me to come three hours before my ready time. I reached there with all my things. No attendees are allowed because it is a small space, but the team is very cooperative. Her process is different, they start with your hair (btw they do the best hair ever!!) And then an assistant applies a ton of foundation on your face, with a brush. Completely masks you, applies setting powder and allows that to sit for some time. Naylah sits in an adjoining room and she is the sweetest. She makes you lie down, close your eyes and talks and talks while she does your face. I have anxiety so lying down was hard for me and I was worried I would look cakey and fair (I like my dusky look) but she kept saying "Don't you worry". We talked about what I like, contour heavy or light, lip colour, makeup I prefer and lashes. After she was done she asked me to check the mirror and I was shook! Did I actually look so glam? I looked extraordinary but I thought it was too much, but after setting the duapatta and everything it was all perfect ALHUMDULILAH . . The best part was the number of pictures and videos they take. I just walked into @lebasspecialofficial one day and the owner Zia is the kindest soul and and lures you in like a magician. Mama and I consulted him for 2-3 days and decided on the design process. . . He got the skyline sketched by an in house artist along with the shirt and gharara pattern. I placed the order in July, finalized the colours, material, designs etc by October . . In Nov I saw my dress... the samples I was shown and the dress were poles apart. A lot of machine was used and handwork was decent but not like I imagined. Half the shirt had different kaam from the other, on the gharara one leg was different from the other (Like the pattern was the same but different things were used for some odd reason). The back was empty even though I asked for booties . . I was devasted, one couldn't point out the detailed but I KNEW what was wrong!! After a lot of hue and cry they agreed to rework on the dress. . . I was finally handed the dress on 10 Decemebr with all the changes made, the work was made better, the back was filled. The gharara still has 2 types of work, because it couldn't be changed. The dress in general looked beautiful, heavy and glam; but that glitch was enough for me to dislike the designer. I also got a formal dress made from them, which was exactly like the sample and beautiful!! . . I had to get a lot of things changes !nd repaired which no bride wants to do... so the entire process just drained me and even though people couldn't stop gushing over the dress #Alhumdulilah and the team is kind and sweet yet I wouldn't recommend my designer to anyone, just because of the mental stress, I had to deal with. . . The second colour I choose was 'Jumman Purple' or deep purple. Purple completed the entire look!! I wanted to look regal and traditional, so I went a gharara for the Shendi (more on that later) plus my wedding was during peak winters so I added a shawal into the whole mix . . Now I wanted to tell a story through my dress. The idea just popped into my head one day. If you all remember by cards had the #Dubai and #Lahore skyline merged on the cover; the idea was executed after I decided that I wanted my shawal to have both the skylines on each end. It was a tough task to convince designers to do this in my budget. . . A number of them said they won't be able to execute it, others wanted me to compromise on another aspect of the dress. Finally, I found @lebas who were willing to give me what I want without any hassle. "My bridal dress would be special", have you ever heard any bride say otherwise? When I started to ponder over my bridal dress I knew for a fact that it won't be red or any shade of it. One reason being that I never liked red on myself, the other being that I was sure that I wouldn't be able to wear it to other weddings when I am done. I wanted to save and cherish my dress for life! . . So I kept looking for the perfect colours for my big day. My Nikkah was supposed to be pink and mayoun is yellow....so what could be my barat dress? . . Picture after picture, following all bridals pages and looking at all fashion shows! I finally found a colour combination that could be worked with. I consulted about 10 designers in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad; my family and friends - most of whom were supportive of my idea. As we discussed the colours got clearer and clearer. . . . After getting a number kf shades dyed, I found the perfect shade of "Coral" to go with the other colour I choose. This was a fun journey, I am glad it came together so well! I think our Nikkah was the most fun. It was a small gathering. I was ready really early, we had a lot of time to enjoy and their wasn't a curfew #ALHUMDULILAH . .
