The Pakistan Fashion Design Council [PFDC] in collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, the world’s leading the beauty brand, presented PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week [#PLBW18] which officially commenced on 4th September 2018, marking the eighth consecutive year of the bridal couture platform.

GROUPED BRIDAL SHOWCASE

Nomi Ansari

PFDC L’Oréal PBW 2018 Day-1 was opened by Haute couturier Nomi Ansari who showcased his Bridal/Festive collection ‘Maya’ (Illusion), in collaboration with jewellery designer Hamna Amir. Inspired by the splendour of the subcontinent’s opulent palaces of yore, the collection invokes a sophisticated, timeless majesty while staying true to the design house’s signature aesthetics.

Working with sumptuous tulle, pure organza and sheer layers to create voluminous silhouettes, including flowing skirts, wide pants and Dhaka pajamas dovetailed with sleek, tailored cholis; the festive collection is buoyed by a varied and vivid colour spectrum veering from ivory, mint, apple green and candy pink to saffron, gold, rouge red, magenta, midnight blue and noir black.

‘Maya’ is further exquisitely embellished with antique gota details and artisanal hand-embroidery, including zardozi, aari, mukesh and intricate appliqué work, end-noted with a playful and inventive splash of Swarovski crystals, ideal for myriad celebratory occasions including wedding events and sangeet soirées.

Lead actress Maya Ali was the celebrity showstopper.

Hussain Rehar

Hussain Rehar showcased his debut “RGYAAL-MO” collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from the reverie where the two tribes combine to create another tribal fantasy.

Rema & Shehrbano

Making their ramp debut at PFDC L’Oréal PBW 2018, Rema & Shehrbano showcased their bridal collection ‘Sophia’, in collaboration with BeeDazzeled. Glamorous, understated and unapologetically feminine, ‘Sophia’ features sculptural pieces, playful ruffles, colourful accents and flirty details. The fabrics consist of velvet, tissue, organza, cotton net, jamawar and shamoise with cuts from angrakhas to box kurtas, lengha cholis, modern as well as classic bridals and peshwas. The pieces also incorporate handwork of gota, zardozi, mukeish, tilla, kora, dabka and hand embroidery. Sophisticated, classic and elegant, the colour palette comprises of vibrant mango and coral shades to glamorous jewel tones, dusky golds and modern silver and whites.

L’Oréal Paris Local Spokesperson and supermodel Mehreen Syed participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.

“We are extremely excited and humbled to be partaking in PFDC L’Oréal PBW 2018 this year. We have worked very hard on this collection – but also at our label – so it’s a big milestone for us. We hope everyone enjoys the pieces as much as we enjoyed creating them!” said Rema & Shehrbano

Our showcasing collection this year is a creative combination of classic and edgy. We have always loved designing pieces that stand out and we have tried doing the same this year. You’ll see fusion with a twist.” said Saira & Shakira.
